I just noticed that GMail has now introduced virus scanning for all e-mails send and received. That's extremely good news, and just once again goes to show that GMail is now the best online e-mail provider out there.
Yeah saw it yesterday. It is a nice and new feature that gmail has made. Yahoo was offering this but now gmail had ultimately decided to go with the trends. Anyway I am too afraid of viruses. So thanks gmail for that virus scan.
Disadvantage of it now is that .exe files are totally blocked in attachements. Also G doesn't reveal what scanning engine it uses regarding existing anti-virus companies. So what is the quality of the anti-virus application? But a good thing though better something then nothing.
It's a good thing that virus scanning is now included. No need to worry about downloading that new sober virus..or what ever it is called.
But how safe is it. Do they use a third party program and scan? Or an actual program, or just a removal of all dangerous files (exe dll)
I can probably do an ActiveXObject just like that, (im wondering if thats how they do it), but thats only for IE, so i'm guessing they must have a server side connection to a third party program. But who has an anti-virus?
