    Windows only :( and if I connect to it via kopete/jabber, anyone I type to gets disconnected from googletalk, not that smart.

    I don't think the Adsense idea would work with a Google Messanger. I would love see see Google come out with their own type of messanger though. I'd stick to AIM likely, but competition usually forces other to bone up on their products at a faster pace ;)

    Google Talk is nothing new; it's been around for quite some time. It is however still a beta project though so that may explain why some people haven't heard about it.

    It's true that the official client is only available for Windows but you can still use Google Talk with any other XMPP compatible (read: Jabber) client such as Trillian and Gaim. I recommend taking a look at the official About page for more info.
