Not me... I would guess only Google knows. Could be tomorrow for all I know.

I haven't heard any sort of launch date. I'm assuming one hasn't been announced.

They have asked those of us using the beta version to invite 3 other people to use it. Seems like a good indication that they are getting closer to a launch date.

If anyone has an invite to spair I'd love to have a look at it.

I recieve about 50 legit emails per day (not a lot) but enough to need a decent reference system.

They require a first and last name (real). If you want to message me with the information, I will be happy to send you an invite.

I found the information on your website and sent you the invite. You will love GMail for organizing messages.

Thank you so much Cricket, I'm having trouble logging in at the moment, but when it comes back online I'll login and check it out.

    Thanks for the invite :)

That's strange. I have never had trouble logging on at all. It does show in my account that you accepted the invitation though.

    Have fun exploring it!

It will probably be a long while. Look how long it took Google Groups and Froogle to stop being in beta.

And as discussed in the Yahoo mail threads, the staged launch via invites sounds like a good move to prevent a sudden influx of data with the possible negative effects from that. So could be months.... But could be tomorrow too.

I just got a GMail account, two actually, and it's quite nice. Doesn't work awesome in Safari but so far I like it. The labels are a cool new feature and the way they display messages is kind of cool too. :)

They at least seem to be speeding things up in terms of giving out invites. I used mine up yesterday, and today I have 5 more. I'm giving them to folks over on my discussion board.

Ok - I'm working out how to use gmail.

Labels - do you use these instead of putting emails in folders?
Stars - what do you use these for?

Stars- like making a message special so you can find it quicker in the future. Or so i think.
Labels- like folders only you can label a message with three labels. You could never put the same message in three different folders. Each label is in the labels box though, just like a folder. Click on it to get all messages with that label. :)

Ohh and schlottke, we are??!! Kool! I have yet to be given any invites from GMail, but then again I've only had it for less than a week. ;)

I'm curious how people get invites to begin with?

Nevermind, I guess it would help if I logged into my Gmail account and look (I have 6 invites). heh
