I've just been accepted (finally) and am using it now. Not as many features as the non-domain gmail, but still a great start IMO.

How long have you waited for them to contact you about it Blogmaster. I have been waiting for around 5 weeks now. Have not heard anything yet from them. Trying to get an idea of the time they are taking with it.

To make it easier for the spammers who use gmail to send tons of spam to your domain....LOL

Has anyone else noticed that the amount of spam heading into a gmail account is from another gmail account?
Like google has a database somewhere and sells all their email accounts to spammers.

I love gmail. Everything about it. The spam filter, the fact that I don't have to erase emails, the recording of ongoing conversations, most of all having a messenger right in my email account. But what I don't like is having a free email address. It's just like having a blogspot blog. It looks bad. Now that everything comes from my own domain name, it's just the best service I've ever seen. I can only encourage everyone here to get an account with them. (Whether they have revenue sharing or not ... )

I did ask that question of Google.

No response. I take that as a "no."

I really like the interface of Gmail as well. Good points.

But I would be suprised if Google wanted you to have Gmail on your own site and take 100% of the adsense revenue, assuming there are ads in the mail, like at www.gmail.com

I also applied for their service, but still didn't get a reply. Maybe I will apply with another site.

    Hi All,

Anyone whose has set this up sure could answer a lot of questions here.

I just got an email saying I have been approved. I have not logged in and checked it out.

I have read this and several other threads here at DP I am as confused now as when I started. Is this something we can give away on our site or is it for internal users? After filling out the form and reading the terms I asked Google the same question in the comments section of the application. Even went so far as to state that the only reason I would do it would be if was for site users.

I have been accepted but I did not get an answer to the question.

The spam issue raised by some is not a major concern for me. If a user does it they are history.

Must users visit my site to sign in? That would be a plus. I can give away all the pop email I want with my current host if I set them up but haven't done it. No site visit required to read pop mail. No benifit to me.

Changing the mx records does concern me. I am giving up control when I do that. Also as some one pointed out; if it doesn't work out you will surely tick some people off.

Let's hear from some who have done it on this one.

I've got this going on 4 different domains. 3 of them have only personal emails, but one site I give out email accounts on. So far the users love it. I like it alot. I think it is much better than Microsoft's custom domains. I really couldn't ask for a better email service. I just include a link at the top of my site to the login. Google allows you to change the Gmail logo so that's nice.

I am sure the service is great.

Do your clients have to come to your site to login?

I know there is some value in just getting your name in the @ name part of every email. Even I have checked to see what it was a few times.

One mor4e ? Does gmail support pop3 or is it just web based?
