I never have problems with Gmail for any extended periods. I have noticed that if you click inbox to refresh it will hang a bit, but if you just hit F5 that takes care of the problem.
I've personally never faced problems with Gmail, just while it loads, takes a while.. otherwise its good. Infact the best email system ever!
In your opinions, does Gmail do a good job at getting rid of spam? I currently use Yahoo mail and like it. I don't get too much spam but my wife gets a ton at hotmail. I'm thinking of switching to gmail. Kierslee
It probably has more to do with where you post your email adress. I was one of the early Gmail accounts and I have zero spam reaching the inbox as yet. On the other hand, I rarely use that account except for research purposes (emailing large articles or webpages for future scrutiny from another of my accounts to my Gmail account) and I don't believe I've ever used it for a forum or website or newsletter subscription. In contrast, I also never use my Yahoo account and that still gets some spam. One thing I've noticed is that a certain amount of spam is going to reach you via broadcasting to a number of accounts with similar names... some sort of automated process for generating email accounts so that some of them get through.
I guess I should get a new email address for family and friends (maybe gmail) and keep using my yahoo account for forums and buying things online and stuff. I just hate having to go to multiple accounts to check mail.
I forward all my gmail accounts to my yahoo account since I cant get a gmail with just my full name. Otherwise, I'd be using only gmail. But it works perfectly fine with spam. I wish it wouldn't say, Spam (#) If only the "spam" emails could just be deleted upon arrival.
Multiple accounts seems to be the only way to go. I have Yahoo and Gmail and I keep Gmail for only personal stuff.
It seems to be down for me right now: Server Error Gmail is temporarily unavailable. Cross your fingers and try again in a few minutes. We're sorry for the inconvenience. LOL
Every time I see a notice that Gmail is down and try my POP link, it works just fine. I suggest those of you who use it frequently set it up as a POP account...
