I was trying to create a new Gmail Account but the rather obscure name/words was already taken. I know gmail is more popular now, but it seems that most of the good gmail names are taken. Has anyone encounterd this problem? I read that Google sometimes reserves Gmail Names to protect from confusion or perhaps in copyright cases. I was looking for Gmail names for one of my businesses, and the name is unique and should not be taken by anyone else. Do you think Google is holding onto to business names, especially if there is a blogger account created for that name?
I doubt it. One of the first things I do when creating a domain is register the Google Account for the name, whether I intend on using it or not.
Yes, sometimes this types of problem occur due to IP reason. if you have created too many account with same IP then it happens.
Not sure about that but the fact is most of the good name have been taken due to many gmail user, it same happen to yahoo mail previously. Wondering why you want to use gmail as your company mail but not hosted email account?
