google spam filter is very effective it filters 99.9% of spam, but every now and then, it will filter some of the legitimate emails as spam, and hence everyday I checked through my 200 new spam mails to check whether there is any legitimate email
Yeah, it's the same for me. I had to check through this avalanche in my spam folder to make sure there's nothing legitimate in there.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I was searching for some more information about my Gmail issue and I found this site.. http://gmail-is-too-creepy.com/ The site details how Google *never* deletes any gmail messages from it's system even if the user has deleted the email. No more Gmail for me. No way am I going to have my privacy invaded this way by Google. Shame on them.
Back to 2006,My gmail received more than 50 spam emails a day,I think that is why people exchange to yahoo mail.
I setup a gmail account once and put the address on a few message boards. Now getting 4000+ emails per day. The spam filter only gets about 95%
The spam filter has always been pretty effective for me, maybe within a few percent of 100. My only complaint is that sometimes it's too effective. I have a contact form on my website that is linked to Gmail and often the emails from it end up in the spam folder, so I have to sift through dozens of spam messages to make sure nothing legitimate gets lost.
Hehe Today it was really nice One of the Google's alerts suddenly appeared at my "spam" gmail box Google considered his own email a spammy one
There are a lot of spammer that run software to guess email address and see what comes back as not valid they remove from their list and what goes through they keep spamming.
