GlobatStinks NetxHosting has a lot of success and i have never yet seen any of his sites go down, so please think before you speak and maybe check some facts firs!

Good thing you're banned. Go take your crap elsewhere instead of bashing a very good host. Cameron is well known and is very amazing! If I didn't have a server, I would buy from him! He knows how to run a company and he knows how to give the best support ever!

I'm followed google "Globat database crash" to get this thread.

My three websites were down, but up again now. It seems globat is very *NICE* that the database on foley server has *CRASHED* for almost 4 days. I cannot get any data, except "Can't read file" error.

I got an excellent help from their support guy. He gave me a thing called "HOPEFULLY". Here is part of the transcript I did just now.

Dave: Hopefully within this day.
Guannan: so, are you gonna recover from previous backup, or fix the most recent data?
Dave: Hopefully both..
Guannan: i'm curious, what happened to foley database?
Dave: there was a failure of the processes... and we are still looking for possible solutions about it.
Guannan: any data loss?
Dave: Nothing, we do have back ups.

I'm doing as much backup as I can, and will transfer to another host provider then.

 

They seems to be in trouble today as well!. One of my sites are down for couple of hours now. Anyone else experiencing problems?

 

Globat is down again. They are ALWAYS down. Do yourselves a good DP people, and never go with Globat.

I am looking forward to the end of the school period when I am gonna have some holiday and thus some time to deal with moving the site to another host.

I am sure btw Cameron's hosting is way better than Globat. In fact, anything is better than that shit. I am so angry, really. I lost so much money from Adsense, so much credibility, Google rankings and such. Seriously though, from now on, even if Globat paid me, I wouldnt go with that shit!

 

April 13, 2008 - Globat sites are down again!!!
I just did a major revision today and it was fine at 3:00 PM CST...
Now all the globat sites I have are off-line
No FTP no nothing!!

 

I just switched over to them on March 31 before checking these forums... Now I feel horrible because the sites have been down for awhile today and this just happened a few days ago as well. Blah. Can't wait to make the switch away from Globat. Luckily I am still within the 30 day money back guarantee.

If only I knew how to move my site to another host, I would move all of them RIGHT NOW!!!! I am sooooo annoyed by Globat!!

Just wanted to do a review of Globat hosting uptime:

So Globat is down at least around 2 days a month for me. This is sometimes 2 full days and sometimes addition of several hours. In any case, here is my loss because of this downtime:

Adsense: 2 x $20 = $40 a month, meaning that I lose 12 x $40 = $480 a year just beacause of Globat downtime.
Links: Many authoritative directories I submitted to cannot find my site online, and do not include it though my site is very high quality.
Google rankings: When Google cannot often find your site online, your rankings will fall down, though I haven't really noticed this effect.
Forum members: My forum members are annoyed and the number decreases each time after Globat is down for a long time like this.

As seen, then, the damage is huge! Even with adsense alone, I lose 4 times more than this hosting costs me! The best thing is, of course, to switch, but who am I to transfer a bunch of sites with a busy enough forum to another host in the middle of a busy semester with all coursework?

My best advise to anyone reading this: Stay away from Globat at all costs; you will lose much much more than you will get even if they have a super promo! Believe me, I lose, at least in terms of adsense, around $500 a month because of Globat, and their hosting is not even $100 for one website. It just sounds crazy, I know.

Not to mention that they rip you off with sudden updates and extra charges to your credit card even if you dont allow them to. So one day, you will get an e-mail saying: "Dear customer, we have decided to serve you better so we are doing an update, so we are charging your credit card an extra $60."

Still not up. Again long long period of downtime...

The sites now give a "404 Not Found error." I hope they didn't lose my data and I hope Google doesn't suddenly downgrade my SE rankings. I am sooo annoyed with Globat. The moment I have some break from all the courses and such, I am switching.

Globat is down again, since the morning this time. I am wondering if I am the only Globat customer left though they say 100,000 sites on their website. My final exams are almost over. Once they are done, I will try to switch if they let me. It seems they make it difficult if you got a domain name with them.
