What are your views on globalization? This is the act of developing worlwide relations in economic, business, political, and other factors. Example being, a McDonald's in Africa. Or the Folger's company exploiting Africa for their coffee crop- which they keep the extreme majority of the profits of. This also includes things such as the world bank, or the WTO and IMF. Some say it causes poverty, some say it causes despair. Others say it is helpful to economies and worldwide development. This is a very widely debated topic- so make sure you research your claims and keep it clean!
globalisation has its benefits...but at the same time negatives. Take here in australia..the free trade agreement has gotta go. i think its around 90% of our products come from overseas..and at least over 60% of our products are overseas owned..then you got the big business's/corporations that are shipping labor overseas.. Vegemite isn't australian-its owned by kraft!-thats just one example of many.. recently Howard was going to sell off Qantas!!!!!!!!! grr.. Our banks are now using indian call centres and sacking australian workers and closing down branches here in australia..this means all our data is getting kept and accessed by foreigners..whose security isn't to australian standards. Someone close to me once said to me,that he reckons asians will invade australia. Well honestly,I think its more of an economic invasion thats happening. The japanese were allowed to come in the late 80's or early 90's..they bought most of the land on the gold coast. One particular property that comes to mind is a caravan park we used to live in they bought and closed it down. It's still an empty lot. (it's been sitting vacant for about 17 years). They then send any money they gain back to their country.(no not from vacant land, but any other investments + equity in land they bought) There are more asians on the gold coast than "whites". i'm not sure the actual figures..I'm just thinking back to a time when i caught a bus in surfers paradise.. near the university..27:6 (27 asians). I'm rambling now.. I think big corporations should go,and get replaced by grassroots..in a proper way. I'm going to shut up and see what others say..
