The existance of global warming is debatable. No one can say that there is a 100% no questions asked definative proof that humans are causing this supposed increase in temperature.

That said, regardless of the existance of such proof or not; what place does a government have restricting everyones personal freedoms to try and stop it? Are people who drive hummers intentionally trying to harm an individual? No, saying that regulating peoples personal lives for the possible increasing of the quality of life in future generations is even debatable is ludacrous!

p.s. Yo-yo alert is now code orange.

None if we are not intentionally trying to harm someone and our subconscious efforts are not even directed at a specific individual.

In a smaller sense, why are we trying to save a species like the Panda?

Sure its cute. but, apparently, they are too stupid to reproduce (they tend to kill their own young cuz they are so fat); they are only able to reproduce once per year. their diet is too selective. They seem to be picked for extinction. why slow the process?

No one is even trying to directly harm a panda, they are doing an activity which according to certain opinions may cause harm to them in 100 years.

They do look tasty, though, don't they? And you know the meat is tender; they just sit around all the time. Bet they grill up good.

The government should protect against real threats not imagined threats. Global warming is marketed because the Coming Global Ice Age didn't get traction during the early days of Earth Day.

I left a bunch of land mines in my neighbor's yard.

I don't want to hurt them.

So if they step on one and blow up, it aint my fault!

That is not even the type of thing "contributing to global warming" is. It would be like donating money to a land mine manufacturing plant and getting blamed for hurting your neighbors.

I am a newscaster or politician and I drive an SUV.

All the lowly people now have SUV's.

    I disparage them.
