Global warming – Are we being lied to?

    Interesting article below:

The media is chock full with articles of scientists, environmentalists and Carbon Billionaires (Al Gore) – stating how mankind is destroying the planet with our use of fossil fuels and other contaminents. The fact that industry is causing ecological and environmental damage is without doubt, but are we really the cause of the high greenhouse gas levels, or should we be more concerned with natural causes such as melting permafrost.

We also take a look at why the ex Leader of Greenpeace lied on national television regarding Arctic ice disappearance and then defended the fact that Greenpeace had released inaccurately alarming information and their practice of “emotionalizing issues” in order to alter public opinions and bring people around to its way of thinking about issues?

some of it could be lies and exaggeration. but, really I think the fact is no one knows exactly how things would pan out. researchers have some theories that are more popular than others and at the same time there are researchers who have theories that suggest the exact opposite of global warming in the future. I guess irrespective of how things pan it out, concern for the environment is important and any steps to reduce human damage to the environment and good and should be welcomed.

Global warming is an issue that transcends borders, religion and race. It is time to think seriously to undo the damage already caused and save the future generations from the peril.

Politics aside the Arctic ice disappearance can very easily be verified. Russia, Canada, Norway, US and other countries are already making plans to control the Arctic.

Since 2007, when sea ice retreated to its lowest point on record, the Coast Guard has been asserting its presence.

"It's important for the Coast Guard to know what's going on up here," said Colvin, from the Coast Guard's Alaska headquarters in Juneau, about 1,100 miles (1,770 km) southeast of the Bering Strait. "It's one thing when it's completely covered by ice. But it's another when it's open water."

Arctic ice pack this year receded to its third lowest coverage since satellite records started 30 years ago, says the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colorado.

Scientists say Arctic ice shrinkage has profound climate effects, allowing dark ocean surfaces to retain solar heat and perpetuate a warming spiral, triggering major weather changes far to the south.

The Coast Guard sees little point in discussing why ice is sparser, said Colvin. He refers to local experts from the Inupiat Eskimo hunters.

"They couldn't care less about the politics. They'll just tell you it's changed," he said. "They'll say there's been nothing in their memories that's like what they've seen in the past 10 or 15 years."

Either way, the unknown is scary. Can you imagine a 1000 year ice age or 5 degree warm up?

sea level rose more than 5cm during the past 15 years. This is 40% higher than predicted.
The temporary cooling effect is due to more clouds and storm activities. After that subsides, the grilling will begin.

Yes, it's man made. Next year we will add on the extraordinary sun activities which will interrupt our life here as well. We're probably heading to natural disasters of unknown dimensions if nothing or not much is done quickly.

I agree. Earth has gone through hot periods and ice ages long before we were here.

SFO (San Francisco Airport) now has the option to donate to a carbon tax program to make you feel better about flying in an airplane. This is a pilot program they are testing out there. Seems like a way to really tax us big time. Why not just make greener fuels and quit taxing us? The oil companies are already involved in this R&D and they have tons of $$$ to do it. Their incentive is to control the next wave of energies. Yet we need to pay more taxes... carbon taxes? Seems more like a way to push us out of our cars econimically and stuff us all into buses.

I am all for cleaning the environment and protecting it... but not programs that can be done better and cheaper.

Are you serious? Do you really think those that are saying "it doesnt matter!" really care? Those who are saying..."it doesnt matter!" are greedy industrialists that have no intention to "invest" that extra money for future generation. They are used to a pattern of doing things in a careless way. It's all real, man! If you have doubts, visit my blog or do some serious searches.

    Regards
