Giving Infractions because people dont like your bid

Someone put up an auction, and I replied with a low bid. I received an infraction for it, that is complete and utterly stupid. People should get them for giving bad deals and the like. Not because they have low offers.

I seriously suggest you revise your infraction system if someone can receive one for giving a low bid.

    He is looking for 50$ or so...bidding 3$ for a site is a joke..you won't even get the domain for 3$. :).

Also it is not really an auction...he has two options...selling/partnering..so he just wants offers by PM.

My thread was deleted. Here is what I said.
    ---Quote---
    10$...
That;s as high as I'd go
    ---End Quote---

And I was giving what I thought the site was worth. If he thinks its a joke or not, still no harm done. I didn't say anything against the rules.

(Just type the domain before the first line. System says I dont have permission to give links out)

I am not sure about the infraction but the post was clear, he was looking for an offer near $50, it was not an auction. Three dollars was a bit stupid to post for an offer. Maybe you should read the post more careful next time. He was not asking for bids, he was asking for an offer then you went on to bid again.

I never offered three dollars... It was ten.
And also, as I said. Its what I thought it was worth. Ever heard of bartering? I go *low* he goes lower, then I get higher, he gets lower, higher, lower. Till we reach a happy medium.

Also: That still isn't against the rules. I made no threats/insults/spam/post count only posts/bumps, and I dont have a duplicate account.

Edit: Either add "Bids that are low" to the infractions list, or dont put one on someone for a low bid.

If you wanna barter, then do it thru PM, but not in a thread stating that the minimum bid is $50.00!

This thread you offered $3 bid for a site that the guy said he wanted something in the range of $50.
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=319044

They give infractions for doing stuff like you are doing. Again I stress, read the post! If you want to offer lower do as Blogmaster says and use a PM.

Fine, I get the point. But still, its not on the list. I was referred to the stupid list for why I got one, but it wasn't on the list.

So, either add it to the list. Or dont give infractions to people for giving low bid.

I could have bid .50 on it, and still not have broken the rules.

Mods probably didn't think you read the post because he wanted at least $50.

Mods here are doing an awsome job, and when you bid less than the minimum, that is considered trolling.

Yes, I agree the mods do a good job here. But my intent was not to troll. I know how hard it is to maintain a large group of people like this, I used to moderate many many forums. It was hard, and not even on this scale.

But, if we start adding warnings to something, we usually add it to the rules list as we go along.

Looking at the big picture, what they did was necessary. But who cares, it's only a warning, not a ban. :)

I guess you're right. Also, I didn't know it was considered trolling. Now that I do, I know not to do it again.

Thank you all. My dispute is over.

The key is not to take it personal. I have been on this forum for 3 years and trust me, if it wasn't for doing things like this, this place would be out of control. ;)

Well that's great. Keep on mind that each time tiy have to read whole offer with Min. Bid and also way of bidding. That's help you to avoid infraction points.
