As long as you say along the lines of : 'This information is given purely for information and educational purposes only, all situations described within are purely fictional and used only to demonstrate situations where this information has been known to be used. We take no responsibility for the use of any information, techniques or tools found on this site and do not agree with, or support, the unlawful use of the stated information and tools.'

If you use the right attitude throughout your site, and not an attitude of 'hey use this leet script and you will bring down everyones servers mwahahahaha'.

Instead uswe the attittude of an information based site such as : 'blah blah blah Mr. Soandso made history when he managed to do XYZ, read on to learn just how he managed to accomplish this, and what tools he used.'

Speak Whitehat, think Whitehat and you will be treated as Whitehat

And I would suggest having terms be accepted BEFORE anyone can view any information on your site, stating similar things.. so no one can read the info without agreeing to your terms.

As long as its not focused towards a company. For instance "You can hack NASA by ...", if you're just giving information on how to bypass .htaccess protection, then there's nothing illegal about that. The Internet is fairly brilliant with freedom of speech.

Illegal, but hard to catch. There are tons of oversea hosts that will let you do whatever the hell you want. Hell, there is one (I forgot the name), that specializes only on hosting sites that wouldn't be accepted by others.

It's illegal to promote illegal activities.

    Providing information is not.

As messa has stated, if you use a disclaimer like the one i mentioned earlier, this everything on your site is for information purposes only, and that no one who enetrs your site should use the information for illegal purposes then your fine

For every hack there is a legal use of that knowledge

Plus the techniques and tools are not illegal, it's just what they are used for which 'could' be illegal. Everything to do with hacking has legal uses

i think it is legal to tell people how to hack. to show them, demonstrate, endorse hacking is illegal.

Pangea - again I think your misunderstanding what 'hacking' means..

Another example for everyone who think it is illegal : The HSBC bank branch in a nearby town to where I live is currently hiring 'Network and Workstation Hackers' through a hiring agency nearby...

Too many people do not understand what the word 'hacking' or 'hacker' means.

Yes using certain techniques or software to illegally attack someone else's machine without their permission is illegal...

HOWEVER the only illegal things about that are

    a) 'someone else's machine'
    b) without their permission

Everything else about it is perfectly legal.

System exploiting, manipulating and penetration is big BIG legal business.
