Guys is it ok to give our bank account number to other guy who is promising me to pay ?
what he told is - just give me bank account number and i will transfer the funds directly to your bank.

Is it safe to give my bank account number to him ?
He is from India aswell and i haven't' met him but i think he will not scam me then also i thought there is risk so i am asking you all experts.

    Please Help !!

I don't think so that there is any problem if you give your bank account number to any person. There is no risk IMO.

    DON.

The person can get the product from you when payment is done. Than tells paypal they didnt recieve payment and reverses and does a chargeback. Leaving you with a scammer who got the product for free. And leaving you with a negative report in the eyes of paypal.

It may be novel to give bank info. But I wouldnt do it.

yes your 100% right.... and giving out a bank account, will do nothing because the person can only send you the money but cant withdraw any money from that account using the account number.. only the real owner of the account can withdraw money from the account.... that is why its very safe.... but giving out your paypal Id might invite phishing emails or more worse is dirty scripts that is hidden on a email that keylogg you when you open the email... and your paypal account get stolen and all the money go out on drain... there are many other reason why you shouldn't give your paypal ID... and some are you dont want to hear about it...:D

bank login and account number are two different things... they are not related to each other and no one can hack a account if they get the account number... because the login name is not the bank number... and also its not possible to ask your bank for your login info by your account number... i never have heard of wire frauds but i dont think you will lose anything if someoe try to wire fraud you as they cannot take out the money out of your account... but its better you should talk with your bank also if your concern about security of your account...

There is nothing wrong with giving a bank account number. As long as there are no log in details for online banking and other information. If assuming the person knows the bank account number, then he can send you money or deposit money through your bank account but cannot withdraw from it.

I am not certain about the rules and regulations over in India, but in the United States, it is actually much easier to take money out of a checking account rather than put money in. So I would never give my bank account number to anyone.

Of course, it is listed on the checks, but if you don't need to give it out - don't.

dont give your bank account number to anyone you dont know. If you have account in a bank which does not have internet banking etc...or in a public sector govt bank in india, you may part with your account number

No, there's no problem. The only thing someone other than you can do with your account information (account number, routing code, IBAN, BIC, etc.) is deposit money. They can't withdraw it unless they have the security code.
