Hi, I'm considering giving a program away on a site for free, because I don't think I could sell it for much, and I don't want to pay for advertising. Do you think, after giving it away on the site I would get enough link popularity and traffic to make money out of it? Do you think it's worth it?
You would have to go through just as much trouble giving the program away as selling it. If you want to give it away, do some Guerrilla Internet Marketing on forums blogs and social sites. Show people how to use it and gather some testimonials and find out what else the people who use your product want and sell it to them!! or you can write good compelling copy and if it's a good program you can charge for it. Even if it's at a small price. You have a lot of options here.
