Giving an Ounce of Gold Away Every Month - How to Promote?

A client of mine is giving an ounce of gold away every month. you would think it was simple to promote and it is; but I need lots more ideas.

I have some ideas about how to promote the giveaway but I need more.

At this point we have a roughly 30-40% conversion rate once people get to the site. So that side seems to be working.

We have a small budget to work with.

So, how would you promote the site?

(And, yes, I would be happy to send some money to people whose ideas we actually use. Not a ton of money but some.)

I would add the site to Hyip and egold sites. I know thier are egold directories and alot of egold investment directories. I am sure some directories will list it.

Do a press release and JV with marketers who deal with jewellery products.

How to find? Check out those websites with jewellery affiliate programs and contact them directly. Ask them if they can JV or sell your advertising space on their websites.

 

aletheides, the ideal target is a person who is interested in gold stocks and might want to invest in an exploration stock. Gold is at a high and it's in the news.

craiger22, I have a couple of bloggers lined up and am looking for more. I am thinking of perhaps buying space for a button on selected blogs. My own anchor text plus alt tags thought this is not really an SEO play yet.

The interesting thing is that if my client sees results this could run for a year or more.

Like others said, find bloggers. If this is a simple promotion, get in the good with some well known bloggers. Spend some money to get reviews written. Also buy some links for inexpensive so you can start ranking for terms. However, you're going to need to offer more information, I think, if you're going to get a lot of people to sign up. I sell links on my blog, so take a look if you want.
