I've been doing AdWords for 3 years, but have religiously avoided Content NW. I finally have a niche that looks well-suited for Content. Any tips from marketers who make Content work? Thx :)

Split content network into a campaign itself.

Creatives that work for Search may not work well for content, for example you can't use dynamic keyword insertion, I would suggest testing new creatives.

Know where your traffic is coming from and eliminate sites that send you traffic but don't convert to keep costs down.

Something that people don't usually notice - remember you can target a specific page too.

So - if you have a killer keyword, and no #1 result page has adsense on it - Bingo.

If it is worth your time create some image banners and do display on the content network. Usually this will improve your CTR.

Set campaign budgets to about $50. Don't lowball your initial bids. That may prevent traffic from starting. After you get impressions, gradually lower your bids.

    separate bids for content network
check your "placement reports" to see where impressions, clicks, conversions are coming from
after checking placement reports, begin excluding domains that aren't converting
