I'd like to see you promote Viagra... I think their is room in the email marketing arena for another player... ;-)
So basically you have a redirect on the landing page to the merchant offer? So even though your landing page is full of relevant stuff, the user simply gets redirected? Is this allowed by Adwords? What is the code to do this properly? Also, how do you track your conversions, do you use Analytics or something else? Thanks for the great post and info!
Nope, no redirect. The ads point to my landing page. The keywords point to my affiliate link. No code needed. I send all my keywords through the affiliate link using their subid variable.
Do you have an example of such LP? Even an image will be fine, just to see how you make it work. If to be honest, I've read some books and guides of PPC (and related articles about keywords) and I'm familiar with more than one method of PPC marketing (and various ways and tricks of creating a LP). It will be very interesting seeing what you are doing different than what I know so far. Anyway, it seems like a nice thread, I'm looking forward to see results
Wow. This is a pretty mind-blowing loophole in the adwords commandments. Google Adwords seriously doesn't slap you for: 1) direct linking to affiliate merchant site 2) different display url from destination url? You don't think they might slap or even close your account in the future?
\ You can direct link anytime you want, they just won't show the same display url on the same serp. My display url and my destination urls DO match, (in the ad).
It's just a page exactly as I described, I don't like posting urls here because I know I'll have a dozen duplicates immediately from lazy people who can't make thier own page. (Not saying you would, but I know lurkers would).
Great Post but what happened? Did it die? Over 2 months have past now and I would love to hear about the results of this campaign...
If i get your thread right.. I would love some promotional work on my forum http://www.ghforum.net and the way you want to promote the site is up to you PM me for any questions or a better explanation of this thread
I could be wrong but I am pretty sure he was only looking for suggestions so he could promote one affiliate offer from scratch as an example for this thread and it looks like he made a decision on page 2 to go with the golf offer already so I don't think he is accepting any more suggestions.
Well the results were really really good, this one netted me about $4,000 total over it's entire run. Then the offer got pulled... But that's the way she goes in the zip and email submit game. You have to make hay while the sun shines....
