I have made a website, where visitors could get a brief overview of some copyrighted applications and get some feeling of its environment without downloading it. Of course there is nothing functional and there is no place for piracy. Its made only with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and bunch of images for making it a bit realistic (like menu wrapping and stretching). There is developers logo used in this "fake" application as in original one. Only functional button will be disclaimer that would say that this site is for brief overview only and this application is copyrighted by its developer and there would be a link to developers download site. I haven't put this online jet, because i would like to ask you if this could make me some legal issues. Thanks.
And this is the clue. You use their logo, their application's name and obviously their graphics - all of them are under copyright. You sholud ask them for permission.
At first I think there will be no problem. But when you will monetize it, say you put adsense then some will complain or will ask to remove their entry because adsense will contain many competitors products.
And what about fair use? This is meant more like for educational purposes. I'm not planing to use adsense, but i was thinking about some surveys for paying server bills and domain... And wouldn't it be worse, if i would show their product without their logo... This is more like free advertisement for developer.
