Ok here is the story. I recently graduated and got a job as network engineer. Girlfriend has 2 years left and cant find anything that works around her schedule. So i figured she could do this. I am investing in her 300 a month. I figured that the break down would go like this $5 a month for website (1 and 1 .com is this shiznit) $150 for Articals (about 30 a month) $145 for PPC campaign most likely yahoo as Google cost a ton per click. Maybe pay for wealthy affiliate or something for her to give her a community to talk to. Marketing strat: Find Products Find keyword (low compotisition, high search volume) Research product (whats it do, Why its better, Ect...) Get 500 Artical Ideas Link to main350-500 post a max of 3 articals a day. Ezine hubpages Squidoo Create 10 backlinks to each artical. Ping each backlink and artical Website- 1 Page ( or multi page ) -Videos -Content -Customer Testmonials -Reviews -Sales Link I basically came up with this strat after researching for about 5 hours. I was unwillling to pay for any ebooks or such nonsense so couldnt get much details So here are my list of questions for you. What product should she promte? Whats the min commision? How do i find Keywords? How do i know how many searches get per month? How do i know my competition? How long should it take to see return on investment? Where do i create back links to articals that she posts? yahoo answers? Forums that relate? Should i design the website as single page or multipage? Can she post the same artical on different places on the web?
If you push your self to hard on it focusing just on the income and looking at people as "Traffic" you wont last long. do it for the love of it, be tricky not necessarily organized, pick rare topics that people need and can't find on search engines. Do some SEO you don't need to buy links, people will link you if you worth it.
I like the idea of her doing this. By the time she graduates, she may not need a job. However, it sounds like quite a bit of work though. True, she can outsource after a while and that will help. Sometimes I.M. can be frustrating, so you will need to be prepared to encourage her when things get rough. My best to both of you.
I think that's very kind of you to offer this to her. Be sure, however, that this is something she really wants to do, not just kind of wants to do, not just doing it because she's afraid she won't have a job in two years, but something she really wants to do. And if it's is something she wants to do, ensure she picks a topic that she enjoys, really enjoys. You have a very meticulous mindset, being an engineer and all, and that helps from the SEO part, but you also have to remember that it's more than just getting seen on the search engines for visibility, it's the content that grabs people, too. She can still make money online writing for Info Barrel, which costs her absolutely nothing to join. She can write freely on topics that could be useful. She simply needs a Google Adsense account. She also has the option of getting paid via Chitika ads (which can take 4 weeks to get approved) and Amazon associates which is immediate. Effectively, she would earn on the ad impressions from Google Adsense Ads over time. And she's got the time. The top writers at Info Barrel have roughly 200 articles between them. One of them is earning almost $1000 a month. It would help if she understood basic keyword research and SEO because it would help her articles become more visible. But she wouldn't have to work so hard on backlinks because this new site is growing fast. So now's a good time to get in. It's probably good practice before she starts an official blog. Or... If she's serious about full-fledged doing affiliate marketing and making the big bucks by the time she graduates which is very, very possible, then invest in her doing a course like Wealthy Affiliate. I'm with Chris Farrell which has helped me earn money because I like the way he's able to teach things in an easy to understand fashion for newbies, even all the technical concepts like creating a website from scratch, etc. Good luck with your venture. Be sure this is something she really wants to do, and I hope everything works out for her.
Honestly, it's hard to get loved ones/family involved in online marketing. It requires a sick, obsessive personality with the ability to grind endlessly for some SERPS/traffic. Unless you care about your girlfriend I wouldn't push her into it. The "fun" aspect of marketing doesn't really exist and it will be a complete grind devoid of social interaction and frustration.
Wow cool guys and thanks for all the responses! First off no ones mentioned anything about my questions Also i do not expect this to be much of a grind do to the fact that im outsourcing the writing. I may be wrong. Blogging i dont think would be very productive for her and she doesnt like the sound of it. Even if she fails at I.M. she should hopefully learn alot and be able to apply it to her Business major. Is 300 a month not a big enough investment? 500? 1000? I could go up to 1500 a month but i figured 300 would be perfect to see at least 1k-2k a month after 1 month of activity. Should i just start a savings account instead?
You do understand that you'll end up doing a lot of the work for her don't you??? If she does not have the right personality for IM, the pessure and failure may also cost you a girlfriend.
