OMG i give in, I fu**ing know its fake ive said it like 10 TIMES ALREADY!!!!! The point of this whole thread is not just the focus on her (as you are obviously and selfishly looking at it) but it is how young people are easiy manipulated hence GRAND JURY - they dont come lightly. And to have no pity its WRONG wether you know her or not and in fact whilst thinking about it and telling me to F*** my self shows your total immaturity. Look at the bigger picture. And dont tell me to go F*** myself i have said nothing detremental and have not outright flamed you, show some respect.
I hope that whoever John was will be punished, I'm sure there has to be something to thrown on whoever John. This must stop somewhere, WHERE is the BORDER of GUILT ? Can somebody tell?
Why should you show respect? You should show respect becuase i showed respect to you, whilst i disagreed with what you said i did not at any point flame you or become abusive. Everyone has a right to their opinion just as everyone has a right to disagree with it.
What a bunch idiots, cant believe someone would do that and for it to end out that way! what a waste, she was so pretty aswell!
It wasn't until several weeks after Megan's death that the Meiers discovered Drew's involvement in the fake MySpace profile. So she didn't (haven't noticed it on the first time)
This is an old news story - this girl killed herself after meeting a guy on line and after becoming friends with her he starts calling her names, etc - this goes on for 5 weeks, (the girl is also on medication for depression while this is happening) after she kills herself her parents find out that it was one of her neighbors (an ex-friend) and her mother who made up this guy to get back at he for something. The whole reason this is back in the news right now is because is because the mother has been charged - "Lori Drew, 49, of O'Fallon, Mo., was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury on a charge of conspiracy and three counts of a computer crime and accessing protected computers without authorization to obtain information used to inflict emotional distress" A mother did this, a 49 year old woman, She is a DISGRACE!!! She is definitely getting what she deserves. http://teensuicidetalk.com http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-05-15-myspace-suicide_N.htm
I remember hearing about this - I wasn't aware the mother was being charged in the case, however I do remember that was a possibility. It's sad that this young girl felt driven to take her own life because of cyber-bullying, but I hardly think any of the people in this thread have the right to judge her for "killing herself over Myspace." Cyber-bullying is quite real, and can be just as damaging as a bully you face in person every day. The fact that a grown woman, a mother could do this to a child is simply appalling (this is one of many reasons I hate Myspace.)
A young life wasted. So sad. I thought mothers are the best in the world. How could she bear to do this to a young girl? She has a daughter of her own. Did she ever consider the consequences? May the young soul rest in peace!
Thats sad, I think people take MySpace too seriously. If someone doesn't know you well enough why should you let them tell you shit?
thats really bad, she committed suicide.... But I must say that it was an insane step which she tool.......
This is similar to the crazy kid who webcast his suicide to his girlfriend as posted by me in this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=757214
Don't you think the SN's should bare some responsibility... the death rate through these channels must be into the 100's now.
i am very sad for here i am a man but this is very miserable i hope they close my space and facbook i hate them any way
Nice summary. I'm very glad to hear this woman is being charged. She deserves to be! I was appalled when I first read this story that a grown woman and mother could be so petty and vindictive as to deliberately set out to emotionally damage a 13 year-old. It looks like this could be a test case on cyber-bullying. All the keyboard warriors had better watch out.
