Claiming that their young daughter discovered a used condom in a Las Vegas hotel bed and then put the rubber in her mouth, a Scottish couple is suing Caesar's Palace for negligence and emotional distress. According to a lawsuit filed July 13 in Clark County District Court, five-year-old Caitlin Kilcoyne found the condom during a July 2004 Sin City visit with her parents Gerald and Jacqueline. Caitlin "found a used condom in the made up bed in her room...and placed the condom in her mouth," notes the complaint, a copy of which you'll find below. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0718062condom1.html
Well it only makes sense that as long as she didn't choke on it, it wont kill her. Further if you really think about it, it is clearly only horrifying to the parents. I just hope for her that if the users had any STD's that she doesn't get it.
entirely the hotel's fault complete lack of proper management this lawsuit would fetch them millions!
I agree the hotel should be responsible for some damages, but not millions. How much damage has actually been done? Sure, it's mortifying but it's not something that the kid will have nightmares over for years to come.
It is really worrisome for the parents to see an used condom in their girls mouth. This is mismanagement of the hotel. They ought to pay for their negligence...
Used condoms can be found anywhere, they are on soccer fields, fairs and more. Should the country/state/town be held liable when the parent does not watch their child and they find one of them?
If this really did happen I'd be totally outraged to. It is the responsibility of hotels to make sure that their rooms are clean before booking them and the maid should be fired, fined or something IF this really happened. And, with so many diseases any more, something like this could actually be life threatening, not to mention even just disgusting and sickening. I think I would feel violated and if it is true the hotel should pay big for their neglect. But, first of all I have to wonder how would you prove something like that. Isn't it just the word of the parents against the hotel? And, next I'd have to wonder if the little girl did suffer so much and they were out so much money on medical bills, then why would it take them 2 years to file a law suit?? I totally realize that the legal system can be slow sometimes, but I don't think it would have taken me 2 years to sue if my child went through so much suffering. I'm just kind of weary about things like this because it seems like the first thing most people think to do anymore is SUE-SUE-SUE. And, so many people see it as a way of getting quick money.
exactly, but still, I get pissed at the hotel's if they don't bring new glasses every day.. let alone something gross like this. I would sue as well
Probably was STD's if your in vegas and you having sex with a condom one of the two has to have an STD
