If she's 17, then she isn't allowed to use Adsense. It would be funny if adsense saw this, and then banned her adsense and made her give back the money she made. hehe

I think Google could care less about what age you are, aslong as someone is paying taxes on it.

This is what happens if you make a myspace with lots and lots of original stuff. Nice for that girl. You can do it too.

That's what I was wondering... I thought you had to be 18 to signup for adsense...

I don't think you can edit your profile on facebook like you can on myspace.I don't think there's a big market for facebook sites.I could be wrong, though.

An answer could be because she did not want to.

However, a more logical answer would be that she has put much into this project and it is reaping dividends. She has actually put so much into this that she has no where else to goto or do if she does indeed sell (even if she remains with the site, her "heart" may not be in it).

It could also of course be a case of naivity.

However, as you mentioned Facebook, they turned down a $1Billion Offer Plus percentage stakehold from Yahoo. They seem to be doing ok even though they did not sell out.

Facebook is supposed to be more upscale as I hear it.

1 Billion is a lot of money. Why didn't facebook take that money?

The AdSense account might not be hers.

It's not.. the Google rep advised her to change the account name when they found out she was underage. I'm not sure if the article mentions that but I've mentioned in the thread here before and she's mentioned it herself over at NamePros.

In that case, she has to be really lucky not to be banned by Google. Looks like Google AdSense is becoming more lax in their regulation policy.

Stories like this are like a swift kick in the nuts. Ashley of course, will never know what that is like.

Makes me wish I could go back in time and seize the moment when I had the time in High School. I wish I was a high school dropout!

Anyway, she's obviously smart and ambitious, knows her market (because it's her), can make glitters really well!!

I wonder what her next project will be when her audience grows up? I think she should have taken the payout since myspace seems to be on the downturn (isn't that the rumor?) and reinvest the money into new ventures or drugs. Millionaires to deadbeats make front page news too.

Leave Facebook alone. You can't edit profiles on it and I like it like that. It's also spam free for the most part :)
