I say they lock up every hunter for two years for killing dear. I say they lock up every fisherman for two years for killing fish. I say they lock up ever momma for two years who's ever swatted a pore little innocent fly, or stomped on that clean little cockroach. Now THAT'S animal torture!!! I say they lock up every human for two years that chopped of the head of a chicken, or turkey or... If there's going to punish people for killing an animal, they might as well punish everyone else!!! For those of you in Rio Linda, I'm nearly a vegetarian!!!! Spam and corn gods are just too good to give up!! They might as well lock me up for two years!!
It is not the same thing - as you are well aware. This is about TORTURING this cat to death. I'm not going to get into a debate on the ethics of hunting or fishing because it does not apply to the topic at hand.

The fact of the matter is, there are some animals in various areas of the world that are used as sources of food, and other animals that are not suitable as such. The only reason this distinction exists is because of our own very fickle view of the role different types of animals play. The fact remains however, that certain animals are accepted food sources, and others aren't. In our culture (US) cats are meant as pets. So putting a pet (belonging to someone else, no less) in an oven simply for the sake of killing it should be punishable, no question.
Now that is messed up, she should get a much greater punishment for this type of activity. Putting a cat in a microwave is just sick, imagine when she has children and her son/daughter will piss her off....crazy.
