i think none of the nine men and judge was muslim, or may be its too common thing in Australia....or in Christianity ....so go check your own religion before speaking on others

 

all i can say is WOW, this is very disturbing!!!! People are crazy sometimes and do impulsive things out of rage, race, religion.

 

i can't believe this happened it is terrible no one should die that way

 

That's just so sad. I read an article a week ago about females in Cairo who are used to being molested everyday by men. Then these men would actually condemn women for "teasing" them.

 

What does this have to do with religion? This isn't about Christianity - Aboriginals are not Christians. (I'm talking about traditional Aborigines who still live cut off from the rest of the country.)

This is a horrible thing that never should have happened and the outcry from the Australian people was extreme.

Don't pretend that the culture in Australia is anything like that of Islam - bad things happen everywhere, but you can bet your ass that if anyone buried a kid alive here we, the Australian people, would not allow them to walk away from it.

I don't think it depends on religion but those people who did that to that girl in my opinion belong in an insane asylum

 

In the one case a young girl was murdered by being buried alive because she made friends with boys. In the other case, a young girl had apparently consensual sex with a large number of boys and men.

Consensual sex between minors and adults is, of course, restricted legally in most of the civilized world. We as a civilization really haven't settled on firm rules for legally regulating sex between adults and minors, but this case does appear to violate the social mores of most of the civilized world. We haven't, as a society, decided upon exactly what is right or wrong, but few would doubt that wrong happened there.

Many people disagree, but there seems to me only one appropriate penalty for cold blooded murder.

 

I certainly support the death penalty for rape and abuse - although not in the case of truly consensual sex between an adult and someone who is still technically a minor.

In two states here the legal age is 17 - in the others it is 16 - I think that consensual sex between a couple in which both people are physically mature is OK - but that in the case of children, yes - absolutely a noose is well in order.

I dont know where the Human Rights People have gone when this kind of incidents happens no one will even look around it.

 

Actually, both cases are being looked into. The murdered girls father and grandfather have been arrested and are pending trial over her killing. The other case is causing quite a row in Australia, but it will likely only result in changes in the way future cases are handled.

Hopefully the end result of both cases will be a more widespread public understanding that this sort of behavior will not be tolerated.
