GIMP is a photoshop alternative that is free to use/dl just search for it on google and you can find it. If anyone needs a free alternative I think it's awesome.
hi I use Photoshop but i want to use GIMP for vector design. I know GIMP is good for it. SO is there any ebook or guideline for how to use GIMP Regards SAM
Yeah it completely kicks ass. Gimp 2 works like a charm, then you add some fonts and brushes and bam!
Gimp still far away to beat Photoshop. But, I bet this dream will come true. I love Gimp as well to do some common edit to my designs. Cheers.
It beats Photoshop already when it comes to simple editing, cutting out etc. Not only because it doesn't take ages to load and works on nearly every platform and is free to use. You just need to get used to do things differently.
I've been using GIMP for more than a year now. I started practicing by taking some sig requests from friends on other forums. IMHO, GIMP really beats Photoshop because it's free and easy to use.
GIMP, like photoshop, is NOT a vector app. If you want to do vector design, use the freely available Inkscape.org
@GekiDan Yes, simply press shift-alt-B to initiate the vector trace dialog, which uses code from PoTrace ( http://potrace.sf.net I think) It's far better in my experience than Adobe Illustrator's vector trace feature, so even when I'm using AI I still load up Inkscape to use this great feature.
