you could put a dictionary/encyclopedia sort of thing for terms that newbies would definitely encounter in the web. you could also write a few articles that teaches stuff/gives advices. you know "10 things for blah blah" and all that...
you could also put a tour or tutorial for something or probably link to good tutorials...

you'd definitely want a number of helpful and even colorful! images. i think some newbies enjoy/prefer images to text. but not too much pics that would make it look too kindergarten though hehehe...

nice idea to help out newbies with web stuff. some people really need those type of things. :D

    good luck! :)

Thanks..I originally started the site by answering question for my mom..she was never online until she was over 60 and did not know what a link was..or a tool bar..

There is a definition page with a glossary link on the bottom already..I wonder if I would highlight it more.

hmm, I was thinking, what if you just have the visitors tell you themselves. Integrate a forum's category where they can come in and ask something. I think there is no limit to questions that may appear silly to us.

Something like I've done here, but have the forum section even smaller :)

o0o0o0oh, i know what you mean about answering questions for moms.

my mom didn't even know the terms, "url", "domain name", "search engine", that's why, it was really hard to explain that i'm doing seo. :( anyways, yeah maybe you should highlight your glossary terms and add more words aside from chat lingo. :D

and i agree with mike. there's just a lot of questions that may sound silly to us but are definitely needed to be answered for newbies. :)
