As many of you might know, I have an Arts & Crafts Directory. Some days I see dozens of submissions from everything but arts and crafts. Today's queue had one of those submissions that is simply further proof that some directory submission services or other directory owners really just don't get it. The submission was for a directory in a niche directory for a particular segment of industry that has absolutely nothing to do with arts or crafts. What was funny? The description they submitted to the Book Making & Binding category... Further proof there's just no cure for stupidity.
I think maybe a warning we should all put out to any new directory owners too is that a sense of humour will be required while running one. Ive seen allsorts of craziness from submissions.
LOL, he forgot to follow his own advise, "List your business in the appropriate category" or maybe he forgot to read his own description
It reminds me about one more than 1 year old directory that still has PHP directory script original logo. Hey, as long spammers are using submission scripts and don't care, why bother to change it.
I have had submitted descriptions that started with "We are the best..." "This is a collection owned website..." You must click this link..." All this actually adds fun to the whole review process. Stop me if I'm wrong!
I usually just get a big sales pitch instead site description, it's good for a laugh, but I do edit it if the site is worthwhile to have listed. Some Submitters including some submission services just don't get it when it comes to descriptions.
A great website with a great product submitted their site as a reciprocal to my pet directory this week. Their reciprocal link for my site was placed onto a startup, zero page rank Nepal "World" directory. I sent a personal "No, sorry". It all seemed a little unusual.
