I've seen that engine in the past. I wonder how much traffic it actually gets. 1 billion pages sounds like a decent search engine to me.

The man behind the company is smart, he is trying to innovate, do something a bit different and that is good.

The bottom line with any engine is how much traffic it provides for your sites.

Have you seen referrals from GigaBlast?

One is better than none, I have not seen one unless I missed them in the logs.

I never received any traffic from Gigablast. After they start Gigablasting me some traffic I'll pay a little more attention :)

    They aren't acception submissions right?
Being crawled is good but adding to a list to get crawled is better.

I dont think gigablast is accepting submissions, but what I did was I went to gigablast's press page and clicked on the link that said "Bill Gross' New Search Engine "Snap" uses Gigablast's search result feed". It's an article talking about Snap.com. So I went to their website and submitted at http://snap.com/about/site.php for free. I figure thats almost like submitting to gigablast.

Hmm... need to study up some more. Used to follow gigablast, with high hopes, but have yet to see traffic from them. I've used the site several times, but I keep defaulting to corporate evil (take your pick) search engine.

Also, had no idea that Bill Gross started up a new site. This should be one to watch, coming from the guy who invented PPC.

    Hmm..

Sounds half decent, there are good quailty sites indexed, and not a whole bunch of junk sites.

But, the interface is butt-ugly, and I wouldnt use it for that reason alone. I like Google's streamlined interface.

Also, I dont like that my new blog [ thejosher.com ] is first place for "thejosher" on Yahoo and Google, yet doesnt show up at all in Gigablast.

    I should clarify:

Snap.com is Bill Gross' new search engine. He even has a trackbackable blog there.

Gigablast is done by a former AltaVista search engineer. It is a one man operations. He does the systems admin, programming, and sales all by himself.

I hope to see more of it. I'm a big Bill Gross fan and he's been pretty quiet lately.

heh - sorry, meant to say I hope to see more of snap.com

Although, I really hope to see more of gigablast.

And since they are content parters...

I hope to see more of both of them!

Well, I checked my logs for the first time my life yesterday. one day i found some referrals from gigablast - they indexed about 50% of my blog...

I am listed on gigablast, but somewhere on SERPs which nobody will ever click on... lol ;)

well, they make their money by providing their SERs to other sites and companies. Snap.com is their biggest client, but he has several more clients, just not sure which ones. So you might not see referrals directly from GB, but more likely from their content clients.

Oh I'm sorry, there was a mistake in my post. I didn't mean referrals from the gigablast engine, I just meant that I have seen GigaBlast itself crawling my blog... Sorry ;)
