Hello, I have a glitter site similar to http://blingee.com/. But, if I put too many glitters on it, it takes a while. To add glitters and stuff, there is the Flash template, built in AS2. Uses this GIFEncoder: http://pastebin.ca/1087524 http://Blingfun.com - Thats the site. Do you guys have any suggestion to making the saving faster, when inserting many glitters.
Whatever size image I try keeps me stick on the uploading progress page. I do not completely know the strucutre of your application, but most of time flash control consumes more memory when animations are based on movieclips rather than timeline embedded. Basically any blingee you create is just one flash move that accepts the instructions as arguments, and then load corrosponding animations set by user, so, if the swf that is build for end-user, is not stable enough it will cause more cpu consumption. regards
My suggestion would be to make all the images thumbnailed. Like maybe jpegs are something and only animated when click on them. That would prolly be easiest solution and save a lot of bandwith. Oh I read it wrong, well that would help too. LOL http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/42375.html Maybe something like that. I think you should use a different encoder
1. Animated sparks be redone with minimum overhead as separate files not embedded, to less overhead 2. General vector text be used instead of shapes for masked TEXTUAL content 3. BUT YES, If dynamic text is being used then variable must not be attached to it, its _text property must be accessed to prevent unexpected overhead of the onEnterFrame event handler. 4. Externally loaded image be resized when saved rathe than stretched when displayed So, practically SWF be redone, sorry but such thing that is happening eating CPU results in users start thinkin they are being attacked through browser and ultimately all of thei browser windows turn out to be too slow for repainting the content. If you need to engage our servies please use contacts found in my profile or simply send me a privte message. I could offer this free if it was task of few minutes, it requires extensive testing actually. I may not reply within next 10 hours. regards
