well, you said you've been a freelancer for years. so i believe you should be conversant with writing out several articles in order to beat deadlines.what i think you can do is convert the same(or even more) zeal that you utilized in writing for your clients for your own benefit.with your experience, you should be knowledgeable enough to write on several topics/niches.create your own blog(s) featuring these articles and market them to increase exposure.you can also use these articles to build your portfolio.take note of the other suggestions given above and ... act now!
