I watched a youtube video yesterday,. and that guy claimed that he contacted an expert SEO, who ranked his youtube video link on page 1 for a particular keyword. He boasted that that was done within a few hours. What I would like to know is that how far this quick rankings last ? And also are they worth it? I guess we can make lots of money, if we can utilize them properly ? Getting ranked on 1st page in a few hours.. it does sounds tricky.. I would also like to know that how qualitative such tactics are expected to be ?
It was probably a keyword with very little to no competition from other optimized Web sites (if there were any to begin with). Some "expert" if you ask me.
maybe the keywords are only a few related pages. can he promote insurance, car, money at the 1 page within several hours?
I agree with Dan here. You can do the same with Craigslist, USFreeads, and really any site that lets you create a new page on their domain and modify the title of that page. It depends largely on the terms you're trying to rank for.
Of course it is possible to see you page within the serps within a few hours. On my blog I posted an article which came directly in the serps on a given keyword, because wordpress automaticly pinged the page to google. And in my logs I could also see that Googlebot immediately crawled the page. This is not a miracle, for normal blogs even normal is some cases. You can rank well in a few hours if your website is not in the sandbox and if your website support the ping function. But you will only rank high in a few hours on non-competitive keywords. Never on highly competitive keywords! So what this "expert" did was just showing off with something that is nothing to show off with. So although he may know what he is doing he is NOT honest to you, so don't trust him and don't buy what he wants to sell. He probably just offers a crash-tutorial. Fun to know, maybe even true, but you do not really learn stable SEO techniques, and he is not honest that it can be really simple to achieve what he did.
