Getting Your Site Google Indexed 101 - Fast!

I often see multiple threads on a topic and make an attempt to create a thread to reduce the redundancy of such posts which in my humble opinion decreases the overall value DP provides.

With this simple process there is no reason your site should not be indexed within 24 hours.

Steps to getting your site indexed quickly and properly:

    1. Upload your site to your server and make sure your html is up to snuff with the proper doctypes and code structure.

    2. Check the markup validity of your html, xhtml etc.

    You can use:
    http://validator.w3.org/

    3. Check your site for crawl errors

    You can use:
    http://validator.w3.org/checklink

    4. Make sure you have an onsite human sitemap which links to every page in your website. The link should be in your homepage navigation and the page should be named appropriately (sitemap.html etc..)

    5. Create an xml sitemap of your website.

    You can use:
    http://www.xml-sitemaps.com

    6. Upload your xml site map to your web server as sitemap.xml

    7. Verify your site with the following webmaster tools

    You can use:
    http://www.google.com/webmasters/index2.html
    http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com
    http://www.bing.com/webmaster

    8. Use the following tool by entering your domain name

    You can use:
    http://www.affmastermind.com/toolbox/quickindex/index.php

    9. If you have a blog (or even with your website) you should ping the webservices that keep track of weblogs and publish them to let them know your site is updated.

    You can use:
    http://www.pingoat.com
    http://www.pingler.com

    10. At this point you can post your site to the popular bookmarking services such as Digg, Delicious, Jumptags, Mixx, Propeller, Reddit, Stumbleupon, Technorati, etc. There are aggregate services that do all of these for you.

    You can use:
    http://www.onlywire.com

I would even acquire some quick organic backlinks so that your ratio of bookmarks to natural backlinks remains 2:8
Comment on a highly trafficked blog or place your link on an established website you already own. There are many other ways you can quickly acquire authoritative natural backlinks.

    You can use:
    Your creativity ;)

All points are nonsense expect submitting to social bookmarking sites and creating a sitemap.
Coding, html errors or validation have no effect on getting your site indexed.

So are you saying you don't mind getting your site indexed with errors and invalid markup?

Yes, i don't. You need to watch the video on Youtube - Matt Cutts explaining how much invalid markup matters

since we are discussing indexing, other than submitting sitemap to google, ping, and bookmarks, rest are not needed. validation dont matter and has no bearing on indexing or even ranking. goold to have proper codeing on your site but when it comes to ranking, it doesn't make any difference

So what I do is, I submit the site using webmaster tools, then I use ping-o-matic to ping the servers, then I bookmark the site on digg or delicious (which soon will be no more, from what I've read Yahoo is shutting it down), and then include the digg or delicious article URL in a post on twitter. I think that pretty much covers the basics.
