chip dip? Personally I think you are in the wrong market. I for one would never buy anything like this over the net, not even from a name brand website. good or bad, your website would only serve to advertise the product if it was already in stores...a store that I could get too in 5 minutes rather then wait 5 days from someone I do not know, and a product that could be bad when it arrives. Its like trying to sell soda over the net knowing anyone can just walk into a store and buy it.

    hi,

are you using targetted traffic techniques ? maybe you should consider ppc advertising since this will give you better conversions as people click on what the ad offers.

Everybody's attacking the product choice/niche, but nobody's asked what came first, the chicken or the egg. I'm assuming that he was already in the chip dip business and is trying to expand his market by selling online. A lot of posters are looking at it from the perspective that he wanted to sell something online first, and decided to choose chip dip over any other product.

    Am I right?

    Nobody is attacking anything here.

The chicken or the egg came first has nothing to do with this. People do not buy, of all things, dip on the Internet.

More to the point, since making that single post, he's not logged on again or responded to anything anyone has posted. I don't think he was really interested in our opinions :-(

I reviewed your site and I agree with many of the posts. But most importantly here is a few ideas to get you started:

    #1: redesign your site
#2: Create a USP - unique selling proposition - positioning statement for your product
    - why would I buy your product over someone else's. Is it your grandmother's lone lost
    recipe
    - has it won awards
    - any endorsements from chefs, celebrities, etc.
    - How is it made - 100% natural ingredients, organic, etc.

These will get you going with your success,

    thanks,

I think you should redesign your site to something white. It hurts my eyes looking at your site.

Selling Chip Dip on the internet is probably not a great idea. Also as a food product you would need a permit probably, if you dont have a permit to sell food you could get yourself into a lot of trouble. There is alot of laws on the regard of selling food.
