Getting Verified PayPal Account question - no 4-digit Expanded Use Number received

Usually when trying to get a verified account with paypal and a normal credit card, there is a €1.50 fee that is suppose to show up on the CC montly transaction history.

On that same monthly transaction history that has the €1.50 fee comes the 4 digits (also known as 4-digit Expanded Use Number) that is required to get the verified account.

OK, now here comes my question:

I waited 1 month and a half but the fee didn't show (nor the 4 required digits), so I sent an email to paypal and got a reply asking to fax them some information such as: copy of the front and back of the credit card, copy of a government issued photo identification listing my name, and one more thing...

What I want to know is if this is normal procedure? Did anyone experience the same problem as me? If so, did the Paypal folks also asked to fax some information?

You should make sure you pressed the button charge me or apply the fee. Paypal will give you the money back anyway. If you bank can not show the code then you have to fax and do that other thing. Better if you can ask your bank for the extra 4 digits.

After double checking my CC transaction history I could actually find the €1.50 fee and the 4 numbers I needed... that is the price of distraction

Anyway, thanks for the reply yellowberry.
