I dunno how this traffic exchange picked up my url into their autosurf...I don't like the trash traffic I'm receiving off them. I never subscribed for their program, paid or contacted them before, bit I'm getting hits to a few of my sites since the last 2 days. Their URL is : www.10khits4unow.com The referring url is : http://www.10khits4unow.com/framer.php?cmid=23416&uid=18512&grp_id=3&auth=2286&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmegalist.info Code (markup): I've heard trash and autosurf traffic is bad for adsense account...what do I do? Suggestions welcome.
Yikes, maybe someone who doesn't like you put your site into their program? I think you can use .htaccess to block users coming from that site.
You can either block the referrer in your .htaccess or/and use some sort of frame buster script to make sure they don't rune your site in an iFrame.
I get this sort of traffic all the time from my affiliates. They think they can shove their affiliate link onto a traffic exchange or auto surf bar. None of the traffic converted for me. that was untill... I started checking the referrer and if it was a junk traffic I served them a different page to what everyone else would see. The page was targeted at people who use these services to get 1000's of clicks for no effort. So my point is, no traffic is trash traffic! You just need to convert it into something useful. You could always redirect it to another site designed to convert non targeted traffic.
Not a bad little cloaking technique and in a way I agree. Traffic is what you make of it and knowledge is power so if you know your traffic you can use that knowledge to serve something more converting to the user. Just be careul if using Adsense or similar ad network as they dont like auto surfing or paid to surf type traffic. On top of that not sure how Google itself would like it as it is cloaking. I guess a lot of people do it to a degree, as long as you don't use it for black hat SEO.
Nicely said Ruby As long as you're not directing google to another site there should be no problem. You're not cloaking the site from them.
