Hi, I have a added a text ads unit at the bottom of my article. There usually am getting ads unrelated to my post. Even after adding tons of relevant tags, am getting nonsense ads. For example for an article related to mobile phones am getting ads about books, travel etc. I have even set the appropriate channels but still getting the same crap. Any ideas as to how to avoid it? Thanks in advance.
Well If you ask me theres only so much you can do! the rest is on the company that you are using And what site do the articles go on?
Thanks a lot. I have just signed up for the Ad Review Center. Hopefully I will be able to target better based on the relevant ads.
By default Interest Interest-based Ads Preference option is enabled in Adsense Account. Looks like you have Interest Interest-based Ads Preference active on your account too. As you might be searching a lot on Books and Travel related things through your PC you are getting ads related to Books and Travel etc. instead of Mobile related ads. You have the option to disable Interest-based Ads Preference through My Account tab. Also, in Ad Review Center you can filter categories based on your site theme. Like for Mobile Phones I think most related ads will be from Ringtones & Downloadables and Video Games (Casual & Online), rest categories can be filtered out as per your choice. Do check on your earnings. If your earnings are gonna get a shift role back to the settings you have.
Thanks for the imp info, but it has not helped. It's still showing some whacky ads. For example for the first post on codekata.flaminghorns.com on my home pc I can see ads related to kungfu and martial arts. And on my other laptop I can see proper and relevant ads. How will I ever know what is being served to the user? And if its relevant or not?
Google always show ads related to your recent google search.. for example if you have recently search related to web hosting then you will see most of ads related to web hosting... its problem with your PC.. on other PC/visitors PC ads will be display relevant OR as per their recent search... try to add less paying url in ads filter..
The problem here is that I am not really earning anything as of now. I am still in process of tweaking so that I can earn my first $ . How would I know which url is paying less?
