Hi I have a few newbie question...

    1) Does links from sites with PR 0 help at all with search engines
    2) My blog goes through a great range of subjects is it best to try and keep mentioning the same keywords throughout the site?

    Thanks for any help

    1. pr0 page could be new pages or could be pages that Google don't see, so this will not help you.

    2. Don’t repent you keyword over and over (no more then 1.5%), more can be count as spam. Design you web for users – not for search engine – and then the Google will love you 

If you have backlink on page with PR 0, and if that page is new (then that page could get some PR), that backlink could give you then some weight.
If page have PR 0, it could be banned, check if that page is indexed by google.

And remember that every link give you vote for your website.

Don't repeat one keyword to much on one page, google could it see like keyword stuffing.

Of course a link on a PR0 page can help you. It can help you more than a PR10 link in some cases.

Personally I have some pages that are PR0 that gets XX,XXX uniques a day. Would your link on that page help you? Damn right it would. Traffic = money not PR.

Well said aaron. Too many people put too much stock in PR, especially now that Google is handing out PR like candy. Find sites with good traffic to advertise on, regardless of their PR.

Here's Sultan_Emerrs Links to getting your site Registered with the Search Engines...

If you hope to get a load of returning visitors, you have to keep updating it with new things that make people want to keep going, and it's gotta look good. The better looking, the more people want to be affiliated with it. Also, make friends, and share links. Join web rings, give the links to your friends who are interested, and an interactive element like a message board, or such, will (if handled correctly) keep people coming back.

    1. Link to other pages, and have them link to you.

    2. Use relevant META tags for keywords and description

    3. Announce your website in many online forums (if Allowed or in your Signature File). Many sites frown on Posting about Personal Sites.

    4. Register your url with google and as many other search engines as possible.

    5. Update your site often to have repeat visistors.

    6. Add your url in your email signature.

    7. Do a search on google, then at the bottom of the page is "Disatisfied with results? Help us improve" link. Just fill out the info. and the spiders will go to your site.

    8. Add your url to your business card and pass them out.

I can only say aaron is rgiht. If a page with zero PR comes from a website related to your business area than it works fine. I've seen many PR 0 pages to be recognized as important resourses.

But this PR thing is wrong. You can have PR 5 web site that nobody knows and that does not have any visitors.

    cheers

My website is oriented around creating a community of artists of sorts, and im getting quite a few views on my webpage each day for a new website. But i have yet to have anyone to post on my forum. Now im considering paying the first few users. Then advertising that... We'll see.

    THANKS!

And remember, that same PR0 could just turn into a high PR on the next update.

    1) It depends if the 0 PR sites are just new or are 0 PR for a long time. If they are new then you are okay. But if they are 0 PR for a long time and they don't have much traffic I would advise you to submit your articles and comments to sites with higher PR.

    2) Use the CATEGORIES feature of your blog software for better SEO. Also, write your blog entries with an eye towards better SEO:

    a. Keywords in title
    b. Use the right density in the article
    c. Use appropriate pictures with appropriate keyword titling
    d. Use the power of comments

You want to use TAGS in each individual post. Each tag is a keyword that relates specifically to the content in that post.

Using Technorati Tags will help in several ways:

    - your individual posts will show up in Technorati results, bringing in readers
    - From what I understand, Google 'notices' these Tags (and the assoc. to your post)
    - You can follow your own tags to find posts by other bloggers on the same topic. Great for social networking, finding link partners, and gaining relevant internal links (by commenting and linking back to your individual blog post on the same topic - OR by doing a trackback).

I just started doing this myself, and am already seeing traffic from Technorati in my stats. In fact, I'm seeing great results overall. I posted about it here: Tags are Cool and Technorati Rocks! :)

Another great way to get HIGH QUALITY blog traffic is through TARGETED blog comments. I am not talking about spamming blog comments sections with drivel that repeats keywords. I am talking about MINI-ARTICLES that are custom configured for the article/entry you are commenting on.
