I use to be on the first page when searching "multi-win" and "multi win" but now I'm on the 2nd and 3rd.

Keywords is what everyone recommends to me, change my meta tags.

I believe that it is true that most people do not go past the second page of search results, I know I don't when I am looking for something. So if you are not in the top 20 what can you do?

Think about the way that you do searches...let's say, for example, you do a search for "car parts"...if the results do not give you what you are looking for, what do you do? I know that I get more specific and change it to "ford car parts", if that doesn't give me what I want then i get even more specific and search for "ford mustang car parts" etc....

The point is, if you are having trouble ranking in the top 20 for "car parts" (or whatever your keywords are) try to rank for the longer tail keywords for now. You will find less competition in the longer tail keywords and you will most likely find that many searchers do use the long tail keywords when searching.

Additionally, if you do a search for "car parts" (and many other keyword phrases) in google, you will notice that at the bottom of the first page there are "searches related to car parts"......Again, why not aim for those longer tail keyword phrases? Obviously they get enough searches that google decided they should be listed as "related searches"...

    Hope this helps.

My site oscillates between the first and second page for an important keyword. Even if my site is in the second page, I get some decent traffic from google.

it depend on how popular the keywords. if that keywords was searched by lots of people you still will get trafic even you are not in top 10 (just less than those top10)
