Getting Traffic from Topsites

I was wondering how topsites work to generate traffic for your site. Basically you join up & place the topsite button on your website, then depending on how many users click on that button & drive traffic to the topsite, depends on how your site ranks on the topsite & how much traffic comes to your site. Is this correct?

I've joined up some topsites about 2 weeks ago but hardly any traffic comes from them. My site was a brand new site.

How many topsites should you join up? I've seen sites with like 100 topsite buttons on the bottom of the page, & it doesn't look good visually. Is it good to join as many as possible, or only a select few?

Yes what you described it exactly how top sites work.

So you just joined.. how many votes do you have so far? Do you have a vote button on your site?

i would also be interested in hearing a solution to this, and i agree, it does not look good at all when you have a load of animated gif buttons like i've seen on some sites

Have no idea how many votes I have, probably not many.

Haven't got a 'vote' button on my site, don't they vote automatically when they click on the topsite button that you have on your site?

well....i resized the buttons to the same size and placed them in a marquee....you might not get the same exposure but it looks easier to the eye of the visitor imo

There's a few I've used and they do bring in an anemic trickle of traffic.

Nothing to write home about, but as they took all of a couple minutes to setup, worth doing.

Maybe you can offer some service on your site, like i'll review your site and post it on my site. In exchange, you can ask the person to vote for you on the top site, and when you'll get votes to your site, you'll make it to the top of that site. Make sure you use one top site at a time and get as many votes to it as you can. Also, that top site should be a good one... so that if you make it to their top site of the day, it is sure to send you some heavy traffic.

You have done it paid or free... Because if you have done paid submisisons then you should have good knowledge about the sites and if you have done it free then the main thing is how much traffic is that website is laredy getting then we can say you should get the trafic from that site.... And your link is Hyperlinked or not at that site it also matters....
