The traffic can be from bookmarks (direct), search engines and backlinks from other sites. As long as I can't make bookmarks and SE traffic from scratch, I put all of my efforts at backlinks.. not only for SE but for traffic also. I'm currently focused on quality forum posting, social media and blog commenting. I would be happy with 1k uniques daily, how do you think, is it possible to generate this amount of traffic only by backlinks? All of my backlinks are set up manually without any software involved. Thanks
Really getting traffic from search engine is hard. You should need a strong and quality backlinks for regular traffic.
thank you for the replies. actually, I'm not looking for SE traffic.. I just don't want to depend only on google and that's why I'm looking for other opportunities to make business online by driving traffic from other places like blogs and forums. the problem is, I get very low traffic from my responses on other websites/social media... I get approximately one visitor from one backlink that I make but it is not building up.. I guess I need to setup 1k backlinks everyday to make 1k uniques daily but that's not possible because it is a very time consuming process.. I think I can make at most 100 responses/backlinks a day and hope that it would build up overtime..
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe doing 1k backlinks everyday is a dangerous move. It is best to build backlinks at a slow, steady pace so they appear natural to search engines. Hopefully others can chime in with what daily number of backlinks is 'safe'.
You need to remember that some sites will never end up sending you backlinks, of course some site will send you loads of traffic. This is why it is so important to be using different types of backlink building methods. But in time as your links continue to grow there is no reason you should not be getting 1,000 or more hits per day, both from direct links and the SEO effects of the links.
yes.. thousand for me it is like a goal. if I can make one website getting 1k then I can make more sites just like that and turn it into a business model. however, I'm a afraid, it would take too much time.
Absolutely correct that it is not the quanity but the quality of backlinks. One backlink from a high PR & Alexa sites is often worth much more for direct and search engine traffic than 1,000's from elsewhere. 1,000's sounds nice, but the reality is they do not generally deliver a decent ROI. Initially, it is tough for webmasters to swallow paying a much larger amount for one link, but those who are advanced in the field know that it is much more worthwhile. Regarding how natural it looks, if they are the type of links that Google is cracking down on in the latest Penguin and future updates, then this can obviously do harm to a site. However, if all thousand links are legitimate then that is OK (although) such is extremely rare. The second paragraph of this post article I wrote for a Leading Australian web company might provide a little extra inisght: http://www.thewebshowroom.com.au/sustainable-seo/
