Hello, I have a developed a few videos that I think are going to get some attention in my niche. Obviously, I'm looking for the strongest SE boost possible. Will my site get full credit for a link that goes directly to a .wmv file? For example: If I get numerous links pointing to the following domain, does this benefit mysite.com? http://www.mysite.com/video.wmv I'm guessing there is a benfit, but not as strong of a benefit as linking to mysite.com/video_list.html which is just a normal page on my site that links to all my videos. I've also pondered the idea of streaming only on my site which would force the links to come to an html page to directly view the video. What are your thoughts? Thanks Brandon Drury
i know it's late but for the benefit of other readers, that is exactly what you should do, otherwise other sites could even claim the video as theirs without acknowledging and also it is more revenue opportunity if the visitor who wants to watch the video comes to your site.
