On one of our communities that we work for, our ads sometimes don't show relevant ads, but how can we fix this?

The site in question is graphics discussion, on some threads they don't show relevant ads.

It takes time to show relevant ads in a site.
How old is the site with adsense?

Not having enough content could be the problem. I see unrelated ads sometimes here at Digital Point Forum as well ;)

You could try adding a few more keywords, if google doesn't have any ads for the specific keywords that you have now, it will give charity ads.
In the 'welcome' part at the top of the page, add a few keywords in there too, which it should pick up on. Such as 'welcome to our forums, here we chat about graphics, adobe photoshop techniques etc..'

Also add some links to the adsense page that show the relevant keywords.

Use Shawns Adsense Sandbox to figure out which keywords you want in your links.
