Getting Started

I have just begun a forum. Right now it is only me and my friend that are posting. We haven't even posted that much. I am still tweaking some things on the site such as the terms of service and different sections. Basically playing with the feel.

I have asked friends to begin posting on their, but they don't seem to be to keen on doing so. Although I have thought about it and this might be good as it might be too much of a clique and nobody will want to post.

I'm just wondering the best way to get started getting members. I know that contests and money is the best way to get started, but money is kind of tight right now. If I do run a contest I would like to make sure that it will benefit the forum on a long term basis.

Figured I would ask here for any ideas, or things that other people have tried. My forum is at forum.livingeek.com. Like I said I am only setting it up and am just about 50% done with all the changes I want to make.

Thanks for any help, and sorry about it being long.

No problem. You can find more articles there, that may also help you :) (some are errored and look strange after a conversion, but those will be back up soon :) )
