Well just think about what your traffic is intrested in. And send them to a product related to that, remember to look for a product with reasonably high gravity so you know some people are having sucess.

it means tht a lot of affiliates are promoting this product . Because of the earn per sale and sometimes because the product is actually a good one .

Example fat loss 4 idiot from Health and fitness

tracking id are here to help you find out where your sales are coming from .

    example :

    http://XXX.4idiots.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=SQFATLOS

if i make a sale i will know that it comes from squidoo because i see sq that stands for squidoo and fatlos that stands for fat loss .

But when making up that link, can you choose any random tracking ID or not? Like they give you one or something?

Wouldn't that be bad then since a lot of people are promoting it already?

Not really , it simply means there is money and competition on it . You just got to find a way to promote it .

If you like competition this is one of the perfect product for you .

Beside the gravity you can also look for the earn per sale(commission you earn when you sale the product) and the refund percentage

For tracking IDs, you could create your own simple Excel sheet and assign a unique tracking ID to every product you try out (along with setting up any other info you wanted)

    TID | Category| Product | $Sale | Price | %Sale | %Refund

The TID could be a simple numerical figure... 100100 etc.

I am not 100% sure how people would out the refund %, but there was one method given in this thread by AmyCheung: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=734680

    The formula used was:

    refund rate % =100*(1-(A/((B-B*0.075-1)*C/100)))

    where A=$/sale, B=Product Price, and C=%/sale
