i recently bought a shorter domain and rather than adding hosting to it i just redirected it to my old domain, saved my a little time, the question i have is this, if i redirect the new shorter domain to my old domain will my shorter domain still get indexed by search engines ???? thank you for reading my post

your short domain will be just a redirection for your old domain. so it is the old domain that will be indexed by google, since your short domain will not have content.

When you 301 redirect "shorter domain" to "old domain" you are telling the search engines that "shorter domain" has permanently moved to "old domain". At Google, this means, "Remove 'shorter domain' from your index, replace it with 'old domain', and transfer credit for all inbound links to 'shorter domain' over to 'old domain'."
