I am very much interested in SEO. I am working in this field only for past 4 months. But, SEO attracted me very much in a short time. Basically, I am blogger this too attracted me SEO. In the software field there will be a fluctuation. I mean that it becomes down some times. But, by present it is growing well everywhere. Regarding, this how will be the SEO? Can we with stand in this field for the entire life? What will be the scope of SEO in future? Also, tell me what will be the pay scale corresponding to their experience?And, can we do it as personal as a home business? Expecting a good replies & suggestions from experienced SEO professionals. Usually people do SEO for getting money.. so it's as home business if you are writing on personal blog, SEO isn't really required, as usually the blog is discovered though word of mouths
The SEO field in now filled by people that think they are experts. A good test for them is to show you their website and the keywords that they rank for. If they do not have one, then they are not experts. Also, many "experts" have taken over an account that was ranking and they are now just taking credit for someone elses work. As for a career, SEO is like a programming language for a programmer. It's just a "knowledge tool" that you apply to a project.
ive been active doing seo for about 5 years now. i hope il be able to do this the restof my life since its a good money maker. however we dont know what changes will be made and/or if a new technologie will be taking over.

I agree here. With some basic information and investing time, one can do SEO for a small site on his/her own. However, if you are promoting a large site with highly competitive keywords you need services of professional SEO experts who know their job.

Seo is a never ending process so u can expect a lifetime working opportunity in this field if you learn yourself some good stuff and have knowledge about backlink building via article directory , social bookmarking, profile backlinks , dofollow backlinks etc.All are very important for SEO.

Pay is based on experience and a new SEO may get $25 per hour whereas a top SEO consultant/company can charge over $500 per hour. It's all based on experience.
$500 hmmm, there might be people out there making that. But let's think about who would be paid that much? Someone working for a retail chain? I'd imagine them paying someone a good full time wage instead of $500 a day...
