Getting Search Engine traffic for free, advice

I am working on driving traffic to these sites...

    http://www.mynetbookdirect.com

    http://www.digitaltreasures.com

Its not really appropriate to install a blog and drive search terms based on that. I am actively trying to get linkbacks, increase PR, and improve SEO. Advertising doesn't make sense for unless you hold the holy grail of keywords.

Anyone have any advice? Its hard to see the sites as a outsider and more often than not I get to find out what doesn't work with a limited budget.

    Thanks

Have you tried using eBay stores to sell individual products with a link to your main site?

First of all you should refrain from publishing your site on public forums, your enemies or competitors may hurt you.

do better on page seo then gain backlinks with the anchor text you want, you can also make web 2.0 sites then link back and bookmark those as well
