Getting Search Engine Traffic Everywhere on My Site

I have a site with a large number of informative pages and articles and I need traffic to them from search engines now. I have submitted an XML sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools, all pages have meta descriptions and keywords, they have an SEO title and use <h1> tags for article titles. My articles teach people how to do things and others are just answers to questions. The site has its own topic/niche and all articles are within that topic. Now how do I get search engine traffic to those articles? For example, if someone searches how to do something and I have an article on it, how would I get that on page one? If it helps, the homepage of my site is PageRank 2.

    hi,
for your post it looks like you are aware of most of the on-page seo factors but to bring traffic to your website you will have to rank in the top position in Google or other search engines.
for that you will have to develop back-links to your website.
when you develop back-links to your website, you will have use the anchor text " how to do keyword" linking back to your website's answer page.

     <a href="your url goes here">How To Do Keyword</a>

    HTML:
to do commenting you will have to find blogs, forums which accepts comments in your niche.
keep in mind when doing blog or forum posting don't SPAM the website. try to post relevant content, this will help a lot in the long run. :)

Thanks for that but I find it hard getting backlinks. If you comment, you could always put a keyword in a the 'Name' field but then the admin will delete it because it's spam. How else do I get backlinks? Do I just ask blog owners and webmasters?

    hi,
if you place valuable comment which addresses to the topic of the post then generally the webmasters don't delete the links if you you anchor text in the "Name" field. it depends.

you can definitely contact the blog's webmaster for a backlink to your website but to do that you will have to post good valuable original content in the webmaster's blog. after that he can allow back-links from his website.

It is better to use article directory and social bookmark to gain more backlink. Pick out some of the topic, rewrite them and submit to ehow or ezine, it helps to get crawl fast and backlink
