I know this is not easy to understand (for some) and not easy to practice (for many more).

The terrorsist just do opposite of this . I wonder which book do they read for motivation or inspiration. Why aren't they declared as non-muslims,as they seem to be voilating every principal which you advocate.

 

Since when is it a sin for a Muslim to kill an enemy infidel ?

Ramadan is indeed a blessed month in which Muslims are given an opportunity through fasting to liberate themselves from all material attachment and devote themselves exclusively to worshipping their Creator. It is a month in which family ties are rekindled. Charity to the poor, the weak and downtrodden is increased as a result of the fast, which deprives the adherent's body of its nourishment and increases spiritual awareness of the soul. The Muslim community also strengthens during this time as gifts, food and warm greetings are exchanged.

 

That's probably Yom Kipur, one of the 'holiest' days to the Jews.

Yes. Not all infidels show enmity to Islam and the Muslim. Half my family are cross worshipping infidels and we coexist peacefully in the same way fish and humans coexist. (Sorry I couldn't resist.)

Other infidels show open enmity to Islam and thus are considered to be enemies.

Not at all. It's been the subject of debate on this very forum. Hence, my question. When it has been said it is legitimate to murder someone who has simply changed his or her mind, the edges of "enemy" become very blurred, to me.

I don't ask questions needlessly; nor do I respond disingenuosly.

 

I will give you the benefit of the doubt, for now.

The death penalty is carried out on Muslims who are convicted for adultery or murder. These Muslims may be sinners but they are not enemies nor infidels. Still they are killed because of the gravity of their crime.

In terms of the apostate. They are of two types. The one who leaves Islam and hides his disbelief and the one who leaves Islam ,speaks out against it and announces his disbelief. The former is to be left alone as we do not see what lies in the hearts and the latter, according to the religious texts, is an enemy and must be killed.
